Good Morning! I'm your host Lonnie Wibberding, and you are listening to Umpqua Connect. A daily devotional podcast sent out from the beautiful Umpqua Valley of Southern Oregon.
Today is Wednesday, February 17, 2021.
Who you think you are will change your life. If you think you aren't worth much, or can't do much, you will live up to those expectations. This isn't always our fault. Sometimes we are told by other people's words or actions we aren't worth much, -- and start to believe it. It's hard not to when there is no one else saying they are wrong.
So many, many people miss their full potential because they've come to believe they have no destiny to fulfill.
And the theory of evolution that is taught in our schools doesn't help. Subliminally it sends a message that we have no purpose. We are just random scum that somehow started living.
Yet, the truth is so much more than that.
1 John 3:1-3 says:
See what great love the Father has lavished on us, that we should be called children of God! And that is what we are! The reason the world does not know us is that it did not know him. 2 Dear friends, now we are children of God, and what we will be has not yet been made known. But we know that when Christ appears,[a] we shall be like him, for we shall see him as he is. 3 All who have this hope in him purify themselves, just as he is pure.
Knowing who we are makes all the difference. When we know we are children of God, we have purpose. We have divine destinies to fulfill. We have a really big, powerful Father that has our back and will be with us on any adventure He sends us on.
When we are children of God, we have a purpose to live.
See what great love the Father has lavished on us, that we should be called children of God! And that is what we are!
Thanks for connecting.
May God Bless your day. We'll talk again tomorrow
