Who are you afraid of?

Maybe they don't make you shake in your boots, but you are afraid of saying the wrong thing to them, or doing the wrong thing. You are afraid to make them upset for whatever reason.

Maybe it's a boss, or a spouse, or a friend, or even an enemy. If we stop and think about it, we all have these little fears that change our behaviour. Some of these people we even love, but we are still afraid things won't quite go right if we don't say the right thing around them, so we pull ourselves in and stay protected.

In our text today we are reminded that fear of people is not the best way to live. God invites us to a better way of life.

Proverbs 29:25 says:

Fear of man will prove to be a snare, but whoever trusts in the Lord is kept safe.

That's a deeper concept than the length of the text.

Fear of man, or people, will prove to be a snare,

but whoever trusts in the Lord is kept safe.

Imagine a life where you are not afraid to say the wrong thing, or do the wrong thing. But you know God's got your back. You don't fear that person anymore. They don't modify your actions. You don't pull yourself inside, but have the freedom to be who you are.

That's the kind of life God invites us too. That is a life changing promise.

Fear of man will prove to be a snare, but whoever trusts in the Lord is kept safe.

Thanks for connecting.

May God Bless your day. We'll talk again tomorrow
